Fantastic Fest 2026 runs September 17–24 at the Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar in Austin, Texas. Now in its 21st edition, the festival is the largest genre film festival in the United States — and Horror Movies Uncut is on the ground for every premiere, screening, and filmmaker conversation. What Is Fantastic Fest?

Fantastic Fest is the premier destination for horror, sci-fi, action, and genre cinema from around the world. Every September, the Alamo Drafthouse hosts eight days of world premieres, filmmaker Q&As, and events that you won't find anywhere else. The 2026 lineup includes 35 world premieres, 21 international and North American premieres, and 14 U.S. premieres.

The 2026 festival opens with the world premiere of Beware Boiúna, a creature feature from Fantastic Fest alum Mike P. Nelson (Silent Night, Deadly Night), alongside a gala screening of Zach Cregger's Resident Evil. The festival closes with Kevin Kölsch and Dennis Widmyer's The Swallow.
