Halloween Horror Nights Brings Hellraiser to Life for the First Time with All-New Haunted Houses

For the first time in the event’s history, Halloween Horror Nights is opening the gates to one of horror’s most nightmarish dimensions.

Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort have announced an all-new Hellraiser haunted house experience inspired by the original trilogy of films, bringing the twisted world of Pinhead and the Cenobites to life for guests beginning this fall.

The attraction will debut at Universal Orlando Resort on August 28 and at Universal Studios Hollywood on September 3 as part of this year’s Halloween Horror Nights events.

Based on Hellraiser (1987), Hellbound: Hellraiser II (1988), and Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth (1992), the haunted house marks the first time the iconic franchise has been featured as a standalone haunted attraction at Halloween Horror Nights. Fans can expect to step directly into the terrifying mythology created by legendary horror author and filmmaker Clive Barker, whose groundbreaking franchise blended supernatural horror, body horror, and philosophical themes of pain, pleasure, and obsession.

The experience begins when guests encounter the infamous Lament Configuration puzzle box. Upon solving it, they inadvertently summon the Cenobites and unlock a gateway to a realm of unimaginable torment.

According to Universal, visitors will travel through several iconic locations from the original trilogy, including the attic where Frank Cotton first opened the box and doomed himself to an eternity of suffering. Guests will also venture into the disturbing halls of the Channard Institute before ultimately entering the terrifying Labyrinth, where Pinhead and his fellow Cenobites await fresh souls to claim.

Adding to the authenticity of the attraction, Doug Bradley, the actor who originated the role of Pinhead and portrayed the character throughout much of the franchise’s history, will reprise the role by providing original voice work for both the Hollywood and Orlando versions of the haunted house.

Since its debut in 1987, Hellraiser has remained one of horror’s most influential franchises, helping redefine supernatural horror through its striking imagery, unforgettable villains, and exploration of humanity’s darkest desires. The introduction of Pinhead and the Cenobites created a mythology that continues to resonate with horror fans nearly four decades later.

In addition to the haunted house announcement, Universal has also revealed a new line of limited-edition Hellraiser merchandise. Available now at Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood, the collection includes an exclusive T-shirt and a Pinhead acrylic figure that can be added to the Infernal Carnival collectible display. The merchandise collection will also become available through Shop Universal beginning July 1.

More haunted house announcements and event details are expected in the coming weeks as Halloween Horror Nights continues to build toward another massive season of scares.

Halloween Horror Nights will run select nights at Universal Orlando Resort from August 28 through November 1 and at Universal Studios Hollywood from September 3 through November 1. Tickets for both events are currently on sale.
