Based on a true story set during the violent twilight of the samurai era—when swords clashed with bullets and cannons—11 Rebels is an epic war drama from acclaimed director Kazuya Shiraishi (The Blood of Wolves, The Devil’s Path). In this blood-soaked tale of honor, betrayal, and survival, a ragtag group of convicts is promised freedom in exchange for defending a remote fortress in feudal Japan.

But when the officials who enlisted them break their promise, the warriors are left with two choices: surrender or fight back. Outnumbered, outgunned, and betrayed, the rebels must forge their own path in a country at war with itself.

Set during the Boshin War, 11 Rebels plunges viewers into a turbulent era of political upheaval and shifting allegiances, where samurai and criminals must unite against a common enemy. Shiraishi delivers large-scale battle sequences, gripping tension, and a lavish production that paints a gritty portrait of loyalty and desperation.
