Kristina Klebe’s Psychological Thriller ‘Noxturne’ Acquired by Studio Dome Ahead of Cannes Market Premiere
Studio Dome has acquired exclusive rights to Noxturne, the feature directorial debut from actress and filmmaker Kristina Klebe.
The psychological thriller will be introduced to international buyers during the Marché du Film at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival.
Written and directed by Klebe, Noxturne centers on a world-renowned pianist whose life changes following a devastating accident that leaves her wheelchair-bound and dependent on her younger boyfriend for care and companionship. As her isolation intensifies during recovery, disturbing visions, fractured memories, and obsessive behavior begin to blur the line between reality and nightmare.
The project draws inspiration from Klebe’s own recovery following a serious spinal injury and explores themes involving identity, bodily vulnerability, control, desire, and psychological instability.
According to Klebe, the film focuses on the emotional and psychological fears connected to the healing process.
“Noxturne is about how the journey of healing can be absolutely terrifying,” Klebe said. “To truly heal from anything in life, we must face our shadow. I have always been inspired by the deep connection between the mind and our physical bodies and this is my first foray into bringing that to the screen.”
The film is scheduled to make its world premiere at the Big Apple Film Festival in New York City on May 14 at Village East by Angelika.
Klebe most recently appeared in the For All Mankind science fiction series for Apple TV+, with new episodes airing later this month.
Studio Dome acquisitions executive Heidi Honeycutt described the project as a psychologically driven thriller influenced by films such as The Talented Mr. Ripley and The Hand That Rocks the Cradle, while also drawing from gothic melodrama traditions associated with V. C. Andrews.
Noxturne has also received the Women in Film ReFrame Stamp for Gender-Balanced Production, recognizing productions that include women, non-binary individuals, gender-nonconforming people, and transgender creatives in key production roles.
Studio Dome continues expanding its genre and specialty film catalog through labels including The Horror Collective, BloodStream, and PrideFlix. The company distributes films across theatrical, VOD, television, SVOD, AVOD, and FAST platforms.
