Fresh off her breakout success in the Terrifier franchise, Lauren LaVera has found her next horror project. According to Deadline, LaVera is set to star alongside Rory Culkin in Red Wedding (working title), a new horror-thriller from filmmaker Josh Stolberg that has officially entered production in Birmingham, Alabama.

The film comes from Gulfstream Pictures and reunites Stolberg with longtime collaborator Pete Goldfinger. The duo previously worked together on several entries in the Saw franchise, including Jigsaw and Spiral: From the Book of Saw.

Red Wedding centers on a teenager and her stepmother who are kidnapped and taken to a remote location as part of a ransom scheme. What initially appears to be a desperate fight for survival takes a deadly turn when a mysterious bride and groom arrive and begin eliminating victims one by one.

The project is being produced by Mike Karz and William Bindley for Gulfstream Pictures alongside Amy Kim and Jamie Burke for Lifeboat Productions. Gulfstream is also fully financing the film, marking another addition to the company’s growing slate of genre and commercial productions.

For horror fans, LaVera’s involvement is likely to generate immediate attention. The actress became a genre favorite through her portrayal of Sienna Shaw in Damien Leone’s Terrifier series, earning praise for her performance opposite Art the Clown. Beyond Terrifier, her credits include appearances in Iron Fist, Twisted, and Dispatches from Elsewhere.

Joining her is Rory Culkin, whose filmography includes Lords of Chaos, Columbus, and Gabriel, as well as television projects such as Waco, Black Mirror, Halston, and Under the Banner of Heaven. Culkin will also appear in Apple’s upcoming adaptation of Lazarus.

While Stolberg is widely recognized for his work as a screenwriter on the Saw franchise, his directing credits include The Hungover Games and Feels So Good. Red Wedding marks another step into directing for the filmmaker while continuing his long relationship with the horror genre.

In a statement, Gulfstream Pictures described the project as a “bold, high-concept genre film” with strong character stakes and an unpredictable narrative. The company also expressed excitement about working with Stolberg in the director’s chair and pairing LaVera and Culkin as the film’s leads.

With production now underway, Red Wedding adds another intriguing title to the upcoming horror calendar. Between the involvement of a Terrifier star, a veteran genre writing team, and a premise that blends kidnapping suspense with slasher-style terror, the project is already shaping up as one horror fans will want to keep on their radar.
