Magnolia Pictures has released the first trailer for The Carpenter’s Son, the highly anticipated supernatural thriller from writer-director Lotfy Nathan (Harka). The film opens nationwide on November 14, 2025.
Set in a remote village in Roman-era Egypt, the film follows Joseph (Nicolas Cage), Mary (FKA twigs), and their teenage son Jesus (Noah Jupe), who live under constant threat while clinging to their faith and traditions. Their fragile peace shatters after a stopover in a small settlement introduces a mysterious stranger (Isla Johnston) who attempts to lure Jesus away from his father’s guidance.
As the boy resists and falters, he is drawn into a world of temptation and forbidden desires. Soon, violent and unnatural events begin to follow him, accompanied by terrifying visions of what lies ahead. When the stranger reveals her true identity, Joseph realizes that his son’s innocence has been targeted by a force far greater and darker than he imagined: Satan.
Nathan, who draws on his Coptic Christian background, crafts a story that fuses biblical themes with genre horror, creating a film that moves between the divine and the demonic with unnerving intensity. With striking performances by Cage, Twigs, and Jupe, The Carpenter’s Son promises to deliver both spiritual unease and unshakable imagery.
The film’s blend of theological subtext and supernatural dread situates it among the year’s most daring works, challenging audiences with a story that questions innocence, temptation, and the forces that shape destiny.
The Carpenter’s Son will open in theaters nationwide on November 14.

Hello all, greetings from Czechia! I came across roulette while scrolling on my phone late at night. I didn’t expect much but decided to give it a go. The fast pace is what I liked the most—it only takes seconds to know your outcome. I had a funny streak where I kept losing tiny amounts, then suddenly doubled my balance in one spin. It reminded me of wandering Prague’s winding streets where surprises appear around every corner. Now I enjoy using spinmama to fill short breaks.
