Myriad Pictures Acquires North American Rights to Sebastian Schindel Crime Thriller ‘A Silent Death’
Myriad Pictures has acquired all U.S. and North American rights to A Silent Death, the latest psychological crime thriller from Argentine filmmaker Sebastian Schindel.
The acquisition was first reported by Variety and will lead to a planned North American release during the third quarter of 2026.
The deal was negotiated between Myriad Pictures president Kirk D’Amico and Guido Rud alongside Federico Pascua on behalf of FilmSharks.
The film stars Joaquín Furriel, whose previous work includes The Boss, Anatomy of a Crime, The Son, and To Rest in Peace. Furriel also previously received a Platino Awards Best Actor award.
Additional cast members include Soledad Villamil, known for The Secret in Their Eyes, Alejandro Awada from Nine Queens and The Bar, and María Marull, who previously appeared in Wild Tales.
Set in Patagonia during the 1980s, A Silent Death follows a hunting guide who uncovers a violent crime involving his niece, forcing him into an investigation connected to long-buried secrets from Argentina’s darker political period.
The film was produced by Buffalo Films producers Esteban and Hori Mentasti, known for The Wrath of God, alongside producer Nicolas Veinberg of My Penguin Friend and Pampa Films producers Pablo Bossi, Cabe Bossi, and Pol Bossi.
International distribution deals already secured for the project include Latin American rights through The Walt Disney Company and Disney+, Spanish rights through Movistar Plus+, and Taiwan rights through AV Jet.
Additional negotiations are reportedly ongoing for territories including France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Korea, Italy, and Japan.
Myriad Pictures described the project as a layered psychological thriller with cinematography from Guillermo Nieto helping establish the film’s tense atmosphere and exploration of crimes connected to both the past and present.
Schindel is known for directing films including The Crimes That Bind and The Wrath of God, continuing his focus on crime-driven psychological narratives.
