Netflix Reveals Summer 2026 Anime Slate Featuring ‘ONE PIECE,’ ‘Shangri-La Frontier,’ and ‘BLUE LOCK’
Netflix has officially unveiled its Summer 2026 anime lineup, bringing a mix of returning fan favorites, new releases, and major franchise continuations to the platform throughout May and June.
The summer slate includes new episodes and seasons from several major anime properties including ONE PIECE, Shangri-La Frontier, BLUE LOCK, My Dress-Up Darling, and Assassination Classroom.
Among the biggest additions is BLUE LOCK VS. U-20 JAPAN, arriving May 25, continuing the high-stakes soccer anime’s next major competitive storyline.
Netflix will also debut My Dress-Up Darling Season 2 on May 25, bringing back Marin and Gojo’s cosplay-centered romantic comedy series after strong fan demand following the first season.
On June 1, several major releases hit simultaneously, including:
Shangri-La Frontier Season 2
Assassination Classroom Season 2
Milky☆Subway: The Galactic Limited Express Movie
ONE PIECE Whole Cake Island Parts 6 and 7
Netflix also confirmed the arrival of Akane-Banashi adaptation content beginning May 16.
The platform continues expanding its anime catalog globally as anime viewership remains one of Netflix’s largest international content categories. According to Netflix, more than half of the platform’s subscriber base now watches anime content in some capacity.
The company also continues pushing multilingual accessibility for anime releases through dubbed audio tracks, subtitles, and audio description options across multiple regions.
This summer’s lineup heavily leans into action, fantasy, sports, sci-fi, and adventure titles, giving anime viewers a packed streaming calendar heading into June.
At HMU, the biggest standouts from the lineup include BLUE LOCK VS. U-20 JAPAN, Shangri-La Frontier Season 2, Assassination Classroom Season 2, and the continued ONE PIECE Whole Cake Island rollout.
