‘Verity’ Poster Revealed for Michael Showalter’s Psychological Thriller Adaptation
The official poster has been released for Verity, the upcoming psychological thriller adaptation based on the bestselling novel by Colleen Hoover.
The film stars Anne Hathaway, Dakota Johnson, and Josh Hartnett and is scheduled to arrive exclusively in theaters on October 2, 2026.
Directed by Michael Showalter with a screenplay written by Nick Antosca, the adaptation centers on struggling writer Lowen Ashleigh, played by Dakota Johnson, who is hired to ghostwrite for famous author Verity Crawford after a tragic accident leaves Verity unable to complete her work.
As Lowen settles into the isolated Crawford estate, she discovers disturbing autobiographical writings that begin blurring the lines between truth, manipulation, obsession, and fiction. Anne Hathaway stars as Verity Crawford, while Josh Hartnett portrays Jeremy Crawford.
The newly released poster leans heavily into the film’s psychological thriller atmosphere, using deep crimson tones, fragmented framing, and isolated imagery of the central characters to emphasize mystery and tension surrounding the Crawford household.
The project marks another major adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s work following the commercial success of It Ends with Us. For genre audiences, Verity moves further into psychological suspense territory, focusing on paranoia, unreliable narratives, obsession, and emotional manipulation.
The cast also includes Ismael Cruz Córdova and Brady Wagner.
