Pretty Lethal Drops Official Trailer Ahead of SXSW World Premiere and Prime Video Debut

Didn’t get your fix from Ballerina in the John Wick universe?

MGM Studios and Amazon Studios are stepping into the spotlight with something bloodier — and arguably more theatrical.

Today, Prime Video released the official trailer for Pretty Lethal, an action-thriller set to make its world premiere at SXSW before streaming globally March 25, 2026.

And yes — Uma Thurman is at the center of it.

Directed by Vicky Jewson and written by Kate Freund, Pretty Lethal follows five elite ballerinas en route to a prestigious dance competition. Tensions are already high — rivalries, egos, fractured friendships. But when their bus breaks down in a remote forest, the drama takes a hard left into survival horror.

With no options, they seek refuge at a roadside inn run by Devora Kasimer (Uma Thurman), a reclusive former ballet prodigy whose dreams didn’t exactly end gracefully.

From the moment the dancers arrive, something feels off.

And then it gets deadly.

What begins as a competition for spotlight quickly spirals into a fight for survival as the ballerinas face off against a gang of merciless killers. The twist? Their years of brutal training become their greatest weapon. Pointe shoes, discipline, muscle memory — ballet becomes combat.

Jewson described the project as an opportunity to bring the highly specific physicality of ballet into the action space, creating what she calls a world built on the broken dreams of a dancer. The tone reportedly swings between horror, comedy and action, leaning into the concept of “ballet-fu” — grace weaponized.

The cast includes Maddie Ziegler, Lana Condor, Iris Apatow, Avantika, Millicent Simmonds and Uma Thurman, with supporting roles from Michael Culkin and Lydia Leonard. Producers include Kelly McCormick, Mike Karz, William Bindley and Piers Tempest.

If the trailer is any indication, Pretty Lethal isn’t just selling elegance — it’s selling vengeance with choreography.

Five dancers. One isolated inn. A former prodigy with something to prove.

We’re in.

Pretty Lethal premieres at SXSW before streaming worldwide on Prime Video March 25, 2026.

Watch the trailer and let us know — are you ready to dance like your life depends on it?
