Taro Sakamoto returns to slice through his past in the explosive Part 2 of Sakamoto Days.

Sakamoto’s Back—And This Time, It’s War

The long-awaited Part 2 of Sakamoto Days hits Netflix July 14 with a brand new trailer and all the slicing, slamming, and suburban mayhem fans could ask for.

The quiet life is overrated—at least for Taro Sakamoto, the former assassin turned convenience store dad whose days of peaceful retirement are constantly derailed by past sins and relentless killers. And if you thought the first half of Sakamoto Days Season 1 was intense, Part 2 looks ready to launch this series into straight-up bloodbath territory.

Netflix just dropped the official trailer for Sakamoto Days Part 2, and it promises a three-way showdown that blurs the line between hitmen, heroes, and havoc. With Sakamoto and his crew caught between the deadly elite unit known as The Order and the chaos agent X (a.k.a. Slur), the stakes are higher than ever, and the body count? Let’s just say it’s rising fast.

One of the biggest hits in the anime world this year, Part 1 of Sakamoto Days held a Top 10 spot globally for 10 weeks, and it’s easy to see why. The series nails that balance between offbeat comedy and razor-sharp combat, making it a standout in the assassin-action subgenre. We loved every bit of carnage from Part 1, and if the trailer’s any clue, we’re in for more pulse-pounding brutality and emotional gut-punches in Part 2.

Kicking off with a brand-new opening theme by Kroi titled “Method,” the next chapter finds Sakamoto leaning deeper into his dual identity—killer and caretaker—trying to keep his family safe while going head-to-head with threats that won’t stay buried.

With animation from TMS Entertainment (LUPIN THE 3rd, Dr. STONE, BAKI), direction by Masaki Watanabe, and music from Yuki Hayashi, this series continues to blend street-level action with top-tier production. And as far as fight choreography goes, this show doesn’t pull punches—literally or emotionally.

If you haven’t caught up yet, Part 1 is streaming now exclusively on Netflix. And for returning fans? Mark your calendars: Sakamoto Days Season 1 Part 2 premieres July 14, 2025, with new episodes dropping weekly.

One last reminder: This isn’t just another action anime. This is Sakamoto Days—equal parts heart, humor, and heat. Let’s go.
