Shudder Unwraps Trailer for The Boulet Brothers’ Holiday of Horrors — A Four-Part Anthology Premiering December 16

Shudder has released the official trailer for The Boulet Brothers’ Holiday of Horrors, an all-new four-part anthology special arriving December 16 on Shudder and AMC+. Executive produced by The Boulet Brothers and David Dastmalchian, the special gathers a sharp lineup of genre talent to tackle the darker corners of the holiday season.

The anthology features four original horror shorts, each written and directed by a different creator: The Boulet Brothers, David Dastmalchian (Late Night With the Devil), Akela Cooper (writer of M3GAN and Malignant), and Kate Siegel (The Haunting of Hill House, Gerald’s Game). Together, they bring a mix of folklore, creature terror, domestic dread, and twisted holiday mythmaking to the screen.

The Boulet Brothers, whose work has helped shape the modern intersection of drag, horror, and fantasy, described the project as a chance to showcase four distinct visions. They noted that creating their own short allowed them to lean into a style of scripted genre storytelling that is “moody, vicious, and hauntingly beautiful.”

Dastmalchian called the holiday season “inherently haunting,” pointing to its long tradition of ghost stories and winter folklore. He hinted that the collection aims to deliver a new kind of holiday ritual—one built on terror and tension rather than cheer.

Here’s what viewers can expect from each of the anthology’s four stories:

GAUDETE

After a family inherits their grandmother’s old house, they attempt to settle in on Christmas Eve. Strange noises and rising tension push them toward a buried secret within the home. Directed and written by Dracmorda and Swanthula Boulet, the short stars Bonnie Aarons as the grandmother and Aaron Abrams, Briana Venskus, and Eloisa Huggins in supporting roles.

YETI OR NOT

Three friends search the wilderness for their missing sister and friend, only to encounter something inhuman in the snow. Directed by David Dastmalchian and co-written with Leah Kilpatrick and Jennifer Polania, the cast includes Dastmalchian as the Yeti, along with Lauren LaVera, Jennifer Polania, Leah Kilpatrick, and Natasha Preston.

OLD ACQUAINTANCE

On New Year’s Eve, a woman returns home after her father’s sudden death and discovers the demon that tormented him has turned its attention to her. Written and directed by Akela Cooper, the short stars Tracie Thoms, Tiffany Smith, Charles Murray, and Abhora as the demon.

DOWN THE CHIMNEY

Described only as “the worst-case scenario for good little boys and girls,” Kate Siegel writes and directs this segment, which promises a sinister take on holiday lore. Dominic Hure voices Santa, with Theodora and Cody Flanagan voicing the children.

The Boulet Brothers’ Holiday of Horrors is produced by The Boulet Brothers Production in association with Good Fiend Films, with The Boulet Brothers and David Dastmalchian serving as executive producers.

The special premieres December 16 on Shudder and AMC+. Until then, the trailer offers a strong taste of the anthology’s blend of winter dread, creature violence, and holiday-themed nightmare fuel.
