Taiwan-India Action Horror Film Demon Hunters Launches on U.S. Digital Platforms August 7
The internationally produced action horror comedy Demon Hunters is making its U.S. debut this summer as Light House Productions and Kleos Entertainment Group have announced the film will arrive on demand August 7. The feature will be available on Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, and other major digital rental and purchase platforms.
Demon Hunters marks the first Taiwan-India co-production of its kind, bringing together filmmakers, actors, and crew from both countries in a genre-blending adventure that combines action, horror, comedy, romance, and science fiction.
Directed by Mei-Juin Chen of Taiwan and produced by Gayathiri Guliani of Kleos Entertainment Group and Cindy Shyu of Light House Productions, the film follows Tommy, played by Taiwanese actor JC Lin, a YouTuber who stages fake exorcisms to build his online audience. His world changes when he joins forces with Sanjay, portrayed by Indian actor Arjan Bajwa, a technology expert and the grandson of a legendary exorcist. Together, the pair confront a zombie demon possession that threatens those around them.
The cast also includes Jack Kao, Harry Chang, and Regina Lei.
The production features more than 700 visual effects shots and a multilingual soundtrack blending Taiwanese and Hindi musical influences, including the Bollywood-inspired song “Dadaji Ka Jadoo,” distributed by Sony Music Taiwan.
Backed by Taiwan’s Ministry of Culture, Demon Hunters was produced by Light House Productions and Kleos Entertainment Group with an international crew that included members of Jackie Chan’s action and cinematography teams.
Producer Gayathiri Guliani said the project represents an important milestone for international filmmaking.
“This is a great step toward building globally resonant IP from Asia. It demonstrates how culturally rooted stories can transcend borders and unlock new film audience ecosystems. Our hope is to do even more cross-cultural and cross-country collaborations.”

Producer Cindy Shyu highlighted the collaboration between the two countries.
“Bringing together Taiwan and India on this scale has been creatively enriching. The film reflects a seamless blend of storytelling traditions and technical excellence that audiences worldwide can connect with. We are looking forward to the U.S. reception for this wild and fun film.”
Director Mei-Juin Chen also reflected on the significance of the production.
“I am proud and excited that three women filmmakers from different cultures and countries came together to create and make Demon Hunters. I am looking forward to working together again and ensuring our voices are heard through stories that have been told traditionally from a male perspective.”
When it arrives in the United States on August 7, Demon Hunters will be available in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Mandarin, and English, giving audiences multiple language options to experience the film’s cross-cultural blend of action, supernatural horror, comedy, and romance.
