The Descent: Part 2 Climbs Onto 4K UHD for the First Time in the U.S.

One of modern horror’s most claustrophobic sequels is making its long-awaited 4K debut.

Lionsgate has officially released The Descent: Part 2 on 4K Ultra HD for the first time in the United States as part of a new Limited Edition 4K + Blu-ray + Digital Steelbook, available now.

Originally released in 2009, the sequel picks up immediately after the events of Neil Marshall’s The Descent, following Sarah Carter as she escapes the Appalachian cave system traumatized, bloodied, and unable to explain what happened below the surface.

Authorities force Sarah to return underground alongside a rescue team to search for the missing women. As fragmented memories begin resurfacing, she realizes the nightmare she survived is far from over. Deep within the cave system, the rescue party encounters another tribe of the feral Crawlers, pushing the expedition into another desperate fight for survival.

Directed by Jon Harris, The Descent: Part 2 stars Shauna MacDonald, Krysten Cummings, and Anna Skellern, continuing the story of one of horror’s most recognizable modern creatures.

The new collector’s edition includes a variety of bonus content for longtime fans.
