Todd Rohal’s Fuck My Son! Heads Into Theaters With Filmmaker-Led Release Model

Todd Rohal’s Fuck My Son! begins theatrical-only rollout.
Todd Rohal’s Fuck My Son! kicks off a nationwide theatrical run Oct. 16 at NYC’s IFC Center, with screenings every weekend into 2026.

Fresh off its raucous world premiere at TIFF and equally wild screenings at Fantastic Fest and Beyond Fest, Todd Rohal’s Fuck My Son! is ready to unleash itself on audiences nationwide. And while we unfortunately missed this one on the ground at Fantastic Fest, we’ve heard all about the insanity that followed every showing—and we’re more than ready to see this new theatrical-only format in action.

As reported by Variety, Fuck My Son! begins its run October 16 at New York City’s IFC Center before expanding to a different city every weekend well into 2026. Many of these screenings will be presented on 35mm, with no streaming plans in sight.

The film is being distributed in a groundbreaking way: through a filmmaker-led collective blending the autonomy of DIY cinema with the reach of industry expertise. This structure allows the filmmakers to retain full creative and financial control while still utilizing the resources and strategies usually reserved for studio-backed projects.

Rohal—serving as writer, director, producer, editor, post-supervisor, VFX artist, accountant, and mixing assistant—described the approach in true Rohal fashion:

“Rather than waiting for anybody to tell us ‘no’ we went ahead and said ‘yes’ by making and booking this film ourselves. At a time when streaming companies shrug off the theatrical experience, we made a movie that is meant to be seen in a theater alongside friends and strangers, where you are encouraged to shout at the screen, laugh and scream out loud and puke into your popcorn bucket.”

The collective behind the release includes Rohal, Tommy Lucente (ex-Vice/Fox/Disney), James Belfer and Gavin Briscoe of Cartuna, and Michael Tully (Septien, Ping-Pong Summer).

With screenings already locked for New York, Los Angeles, Austin, San Francisco, Chicago, Dallas, Seattle, Atlanta, Toronto, and more, Fuck My Son! is taking its gonzo brand of chaos directly to audiences across North America.
