Uncork’d Entertainment drops a chilling trailer for Womb, coming February 11!

It’s been years since we’ve covered a film about the terrifying subject of fetal abductions, last explored in the French classic Inside (À l’intérieur). This rare but chilling crime involves marauders stalking expectant mothers with the horrifying intent of stealing their unborn children.

Filmmaker Bridget Smith, working from a script by Mike Walsh of Philly Born Films, brings us Womb. The story follows a young woman who joins her sister-in-law for a weekend retreat, only to find herself hunted by a masked predator determined to take her unborn child.

Inspired by true events, Womb stars Taylor Hanks, Myles Clohessy, and Ellen Adair. Uncork’d Entertainment has released a harrowing new trailer for the film, which will be available on digital and on demand starting February 11.

Uncork’d Entertainment is set to release WOMB, a gripping female-directed horror-thriller inspired by true events, on Digital and On Demand starting February 11.

WOMB delves into every woman’s worst nightmare: the terror of fetal abduction. The film not only offers a chilling portrayal of this rarely explored subject but also provides a deep understanding of the twisted motivations and dark justifications of the perpetrators involved.

Beautiful, pregnant and a recovering addict, 22-year-old Hailey heads to a remote cabin to meet her soon to be sister-in-law. What starts out as a beautiful, quiet weekend turns into pure terror when she becomes the prey of a deranged hunter obsessed with abducting her full-term fetus.

Directed by Bridget Smith (The Retaliators, Sno-Babies) and written and produced by Mike Walsh of Philly Born Films, WOMB features a powerful lead performance by Taylor Hanks (The Giant) alongside Myles Clohessy (“FBI: Most Wanted”) and Ellen Adair (“Law and Order.”)

“The first documented case of fetal abduction happened in my hometown of Philadelphia in 1974. The terror of it has been in my mind ever since I heard that story,” says filmmaker Bridget Smith. “When Mike Walsh shared the script with me, I knew it would make a disturbing movie. Although you rarely hear about it on the news, fetal abduction has happened continually over the years with alarming regularity.”
