Parker Posey to Star in Blumhouse Atomic Monster Horror Film ‘Sleepover’
Parker Posey is returning to horror for Sleepover, a new theatrical feature from Blumhouse Atomic Monster and Universal Pictures.
According to Variety, Posey has been cast in the upcoming film, which Universal has scheduled to open in theaters Oct. 8, 2027.
Jacob Chase is directing Sleepover from a screenplay he co-wrote with Bryce McGuire. The project is based on an original short story by McGuire, whose previous screenwriting credits include Blumhouse and Universal’s Night Swim.
Plot details for Sleepover have not yet been disclosed, and additional casting remains under wraps.
The project reunites Chase with Blumhouse Atomic Monster following Insidious: Out of the Further, the sixth installment in the Insidious franchise. Chase’s other directing credits include the 2020 supernatural horror film Come Play and the Peacock series The Girl in the Woods.
Posey has worked across comedy, drama and genre projects throughout her career, including several previous appearances in horror and horror-adjacent films.
She played actress Jennifer Jolie in Wes Craven’s Scream 3 in 2000 and later appeared as vampire Danica Talos opposite Wesley Snipes in 2004’s Blade: Trinity. More recently, Posey’s credits have included Ari Aster’s Beau Is Afraid, Thelma and the third season of HBO’s The White Lotus.
Posey will also appear in Martin McDonagh’s Wild Horse Nine alongside John Malkovich and Sam Rockwell. The Searchlight film premiered at the 2026 Venice Film Festival and is scheduled for release Nov. 6. She is also set to host Hulu’s upcoming reality competition series The Mob, premiering Oct. 26.
Jason Blum is producing Sleepover. Chase, McGuire and Bea Sequeira serve as executive producers, with Lilly Tyson overseeing the project.
The film is a Cinescape Entertainment production presented by Universal Pictures and Blumhouse Atomic Monster.
