The Wendigo thriller Wind and Bone marks the feature debut of writer/director Michael Tuthill, co-directed with longtime creative partner Kevin Sylvain. The film made its world premiere at the Chicago Horror Film Festival, where it was nominated for Best Horror Feature—and walked away with the win.
Backed by Lucid Images and Future Phantoscope, Wind and Bone is set to release On Digital and On Demand May 20, 2025, with an official trailer and poster now available. The trailer promises a dread-soaked descent into isolation, distrust, and supernatural terror—anchored by an eerie sense of psychological unraveling.
The story follows Sierra, played by Julie Kashmanian (Was Once a Hero, Hemisphere, Ghost Planet), a woman on the run who stumbles into a weekend retreat with a group of college students. Their escape quickly turns nightmarish as they’re hunted by a malevolent force of nature—the Wendigo.
Shot on location in West Virginia and Maryland, the film explores themes of trauma, guilt, and what happens when our darkest fears take physical form. A modern cryptid tale wrapped in psychological horror, Wind and Bone invites viewers to question what’s real—and what’s buried deep inside.
Tuthill, based in Frederick, MD, co-created the film with his wife and producer Amy Tuthill. Their past projects include The Inside (winner of Best Short at the International Horror Film Festival in Chicago) and Was Once a Hero (Best Feature at the Wild Bunch Film Festival in Tucson), which is currently the #1 Western release on Amazon. Both titles are available to stream now.
