Trailer: You're Dead to Me Brings a New Generation Into a Classic Slasher Nightmare

The latest trailer for You're Dead to Me has arrived, and it looks like Gen Z is about to get its own dose of classic slasher terror.

Coming to Digital and On Demand on July 7 from Dark Star Pictures, You're Dead to Me blends modern teen horror with the DNA of late-'90s genre staples such as Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer. The newly released trailer teases masked threats, mounting paranoia, and a body count that turns what begins as a carefree weekend into a fight for survival.

The film stars Denise Richards alongside a cast of rising young talent that includes Siena Agudong (Sidelined: The QB and Me, Sidelined 2: Intercepted), Jessica Belkin (Elle, Baywatch), Ella Anderson (Henry Danger, Song Sung Blue), and Conor Husting (Boo, Bitch, Hollywood Stargirl).

According to the official synopsis, the story follows three high school seniors who decide to skip prom in favor of a secluded weekend getaway. Looking to escape parents, school, and responsibility for a few days, the group heads off for what should be a carefree celebration.

Their plans quickly unravel when news breaks that one of their classmates has been brutally murdered.

As suspicion spreads and danger closes in, the weekend turns into a deadly nightmare where trust becomes increasingly difficult and survival is far from guaranteed.

You're Dead to Me first premiered at FrightFest 2025, where it introduced audiences to its mix of teen drama, mystery, and slasher suspense. The film was co-written by Sarah Howard and Terry Castle, the daughter of legendary filmmaker William Castle, whose credits include horror classics The Tingler, House on Haunted Hill, and 13 Ghosts.

The film is directed by Juan Pablo Arias Munoz.

With a trailer packed with prom-night secrets, isolated settings, and a killer targeting a group of teenagers, You're Dead to Me appears poised to tap into the enduring appeal of the slasher formula while introducing a new generation of characters to the genre.

You're Dead to Me arrives on Digital and On Demand July 7.
