‘Ballistic’ Trailer: Lena Headey Leads Revenge Thriller Rooted in Loss and Accountability

Lena Headey stands in an industrial setting in the revenge thriller Ballistic.
Lena Headey takes on a mission of revenge in Ballistic, arriving in theaters and on demand this April.

A new revenge-driven thriller is stepping into the spotlight with a personal and politically charged premise.

Ballistic, directed by Chad Faust, has released its official trailer ahead of its April 17, 2026 debut in select theaters and on demand. The film stars Lena Headey, known for her commanding performances across film and television, in a role centered on grief, accountability and retaliation.

The story follows a mother who uncovers a devastating truth: the bullet that killed her son during his service in Afghanistan was manufactured at the very factory where she works. That discovery sets her on a path toward confronting those responsible, transforming personal loss into a targeted pursuit of justice.

The trailer leans heavily into tension and emotional weight, balancing grounded character drama with flashes of action. Rather than presenting a straightforward action film, Ballistic appears to position itself in the space between revenge thriller and social commentary, using its central premise to explore the consequences of systems that operate at a distance from the lives they impact.

Faust, who also wrote the film, builds the narrative around a contained but escalating conflict, with Headey anchoring the story through a performance that appears both controlled and volatile. Supporting cast members Amybeth McNulty and Hamza Haq round out the film’s core ensemble.

Visually, the trailer emphasizes industrial environments and stark settings, reinforcing the film’s connection to its central idea—violence that begins far from the battlefield but carries real-world consequences.

As revenge narratives continue to evolve beyond traditional formulas, Ballistic looks to ground its story in a more direct cause-and-effect dynamic, where the line between personal and systemic responsibility becomes increasingly blurred.
