Uncork’d Entertainment Drops Trailer for Psychological Horror Blackout, Arriving May 5

A new indie horror entry is stepping into the digital space as Uncork’d Entertainment releases the official trailer for Blackout, a psychological horror-thriller set to arrive on Digital and On Demand May 5.

Written and directed by Shane Aquino (Road Dogs), the film blends psychological horror with sci-fi elements, building its tension around isolation, perception, and fractured reality.

The story begins with a sudden global power outage that leaves individuals waking up to a world locked in permanent darkness. Separated into their own versions of reality, each character is forced to navigate an unfamiliar environment where nothing fully aligns.

At the center of that experience are The Ushers—mysterious figures who appear to guide individuals toward a final destination, one that comes with a decision that cannot be reversed.

The cast is led by Mike Ferguson, a frequent presence in independent genre films, alongside Twana Barnett and Riley Ryan in her debut role.

Blackout positions itself within a growing wave of low-budget, concept-driven horror that leans into liminal spaces and psychological disorientation rather than traditional structure. Its setup focuses less on direct confrontation and more on atmosphere, placing characters in scenarios where the rules are unclear and the stakes are internal as much as external.

With its release set for May 5, the film enters a crowded spring slate, offering a contained, idea-driven approach to horror that centers on isolation, choice, and consequence.
