Well Go USA Unleashes New Trailer for Blades of the Guardians: Wind Rises in the Desert
A new trailer has arrived for Blades of the Guardians: Wind Rises in the Desert, the upcoming wuxia action epic from legendary martial arts filmmaker Yuen Woo-ping.
Previously known as Blades of the Guardians, the film will debut on Digital platforms June 30 before arriving on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray Combo Pack, and DVD on August 25 through Well Go USA Entertainment.
Known for his work on Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, The Matrix, Kill Bill: Vol. 2, Fearless, Kung Fu Hustle, and the Ip Man franchise, Yuen Woo-ping returns with a large-scale martial arts adventure featuring an all-star cast of action cinema veterans.
Leading the film is Wu Jing, joined by Nicholas Tse, Max Zhang, and Jet Li. Together, the cast brings decades of martial arts experience to a story built around relentless pursuit, desert warfare, and high-stakes sword combat.
The film follows bounty hunter Dao Ma, played by Wu Jing, who accepts a dangerous assignment escorting the empire's most wanted criminal, Zhi Shi Lang, to the city of Chang'an. As word of the transport spreads across the region, rival bounty hunters, warriors, and mercenaries descend on the group, turning the journey into a constant battle for survival.
The newly released trailer highlights large-scale action sequences across sweeping desert landscapes, showcasing elaborate sword fights, mounted combat, and the stylized choreography that has become synonymous with Yuen Woo-ping's work. Fans of classic wuxia cinema will likely recognize the film's blend of martial arts spectacle, heroic storytelling, and larger-than-life action.
The cast features some of the most recognizable names in martial arts cinema. Wu Jing is known worldwide for the Wolf Warrior franchise, while Nicholas Tse has appeared in films such as Shaolin and New Police Story. Max Zhang's credits include The Grandmaster and Ip Man 3, while Jet Li remains one of the most influential martial arts stars of all time through films including Once Upon a Time in China, Hero, and The Expendables series.
In addition to the feature presentation, home media releases will include behind-the-scenes bonus content as well as English and Spanish dubbed versions.
With its combination of legendary talent, expansive desert settings, and nonstop blade-driven action, Blades of the Guardians: Wind Rises in the Desert is shaping up to be one of the year's most anticipated wuxia releases.
Blades of the Guardians: Wind Rises in the Desert arrives on Digital June 30 and on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD August 25.
