Grave Seasons heads to PC and consoles on Aug. 14, bringing a murder mystery twist to the cozy farming sim formula.

Blumhouse Games is bringing murder, mystery and small-town dread to the farming-sim space this summer.

Grave Seasons, the upcoming narrative-driven horror title from developer Perfect Garbage and publisher Blumhouse Games, is set to launch on Aug. 14, 2026 for Steam, Xbox, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch, with day-one availability on Xbox Game Pass.

Set in the quiet town of Ashenridge, Grave Seasons takes the familiar rhythms of planting, relationships and daily routines and twists them into something far more unsettling. Beneath the cozy surface is a murder mystery built around a serial killer hidden among the town’s residents, giving the game a hook that separates it from more traditional life-sim entries.

The newly released promotional materials lean hard into that contrast. One image welcomes players to Ashenridge with understated calm, while others push the game’s “dig deeper” tagline and confirm the August release date across all major platforms. Another teases that players can wishlist the game now to stay updated on the public demo rollout.

Blumhouse Games is also using PAX East as a major showcase point, with the first public hands-on demo set for the convention floor. That move gives Grave Seasons a timely push as horror games continue finding new ways to merge tension with familiar genres rather than relying solely on traditional survival-horror setups.

Visually, the campaign understands the appeal of contradiction. The colorful art direction and farming-sim structure suggest comfort and routine, while the copy and character materials hint at violence, secrecy and something rotten underneath the town’s surface. Even the merchandise rollout leans into that split, pairing clean branding with the promise of “dirty secrets.”

For Blumhouse Games, Grave Seasons looks like another attempt to expand the company’s horror identity beyond film and into interactive projects that still feel accessible to a broader audience. For players, it may end up being one of the more distinct genre hybrids on the 2026 calendar.

Grave Seasons launches Aug. 14.
