The latest entry returns to the franchise’s found-footage roots, this time following a small indie crew attempting to document the paranormal history of a rural farmhouse with a violent past. Director Calvin Morie McCarthy once again steps in front of and behind the camera, guiding the film’s shift from a straightforward doc shoot to a full descent into chaos as the team realizes that the Boogeyman myth isn’t staying in the shadows.
