Chattanooga Favorite Hacked: A Double Entendre of Rage Fueled Karma Heads to VOD June 2
One of the more chaotic crowd-pleasers from the festival circuit is officially making its way to a wider audience. Hacked: A Double Entendre of Rage Fueled Karma, a revenge-fueled horror comedy from Shane Brady, is set for a limited theatrical run in May followed by a VOD and digital release on June 2 via Scatena & Rosner Films.
The film, which made noise at multiple festivals including the Chattanooga Film Festival, blends revenge fantasy with fast-paced editing and dark humor. Based on real-life experiences from Brady and producer Emily Zercher, the story centers on a family whose financial future is destroyed by an elusive hacker known as “The Chameleon.”
When traditional systems fail them—banks, law enforcement—the family takes matters into their own hands, setting off a chain of events that spirals into a high-energy, revenge-driven narrative.
The cast is led by Chandler Riggs (The Walking Dead), alongside Owen Atlas, Collin Thompson, Richard Riehle, and Katelyn Nacon. Riggs plays Rob “The Chameleon” Huberton, the central figure behind the chaos, in a role that leans into both intensity and comedic unpredictability.
Additional cast members include Augie Duke, Hugh Scott, Brittney Escalante, Glenn Stanton, and Mia Castillo, with the film also featuring an appearance from NHL Hall of Famer Phil Esposito.
Stylistically, Hacked is built around momentum—quick cuts, rapid pacing, and a tone that shifts between absurdity and aggression. The film positions itself less as a grounded thriller and more as a heightened, cathartic release, channeling frustration into spectacle.
Its festival run reflects that reception. The film premiered at the Gasparilla International Film Festival, where it won Best Focus on Florida Feature Film, and continued to screen at Popcorn Frights, FilmQuest, and Chattanooga, among others. It later picked up Best Comedy – Feature Film and Best Comedic Performance for Riggs at the Dunedin International Film Festival.
Produced under Spooky Feet Films, Hacked also incorporates music from the band Underoath, with a score by Chris Dudley, alongside Kid Baron and Hey Duke You Suck!
At its core, the film operates on a simple premise—what happens when everyday people are pushed past their limit. From there, it escalates into something much less controlled.
Hacked: A Double Entendre of Rage Fueled Karma will be available across digital platforms beginning June 2.
