A new poster has been revealed for Hallowarrior, the Halloween-set post-apocalyptic action thriller starring Milly Shapiro and marking the feature directorial debut of writer-director Ben Sottak.

The film will begin streaming on Shudder on Oct. 16, bringing its combination of survival horror, wasteland action and Halloween imagery to the platform during the height of the spooky season.

Shapiro stars as Pumpkin, the last girl on Earth and sole survivor of a plague that has wiped out humanity. On the eve of Halloween, Pumpkin continues her solitary existence by scavenging the wasteland for supplies while maintaining her own holiday rituals.

Her isolation comes to an abrupt end when a violent group of raiders arrives at her doorstep. Led by the formidable Thalia, the gang leaves Pumpkin badly outnumbered and forced to defend the life she has built.

Armed with candy, weapons and her own resourcefulness, Pumpkin must fight her way through the night as her lonely Halloween transforms into a battle for survival.

Shapiro, who made her feature debut in Ari Aster’s Hereditary, leads a cast that also includes Ajani Russell, AJ Bowen and Shannyn Sossamon.

Hallowarrior marks Sottak’s feature debut as both writer and director. The New York-based filmmaker previously directed commercial work for brands including Warheads and Sweethearts, while his narrative projects have screened at festivals including Tribeca, Fantasia, FrightFest, Telluride Horror Show and the Brooklyn Horror Film Festival.

The film has also been making its way through the 2026 genre festival circuit ahead of its streaming release, including a West Coast premiere as part of Beyond Fest’s Los Feliz 3 programming.

Emmajane Hoffman, Gabriel Rosenstein, Sottak, Danielle Benedict and Jake Casey serve as producers. Sossamon executive produces alongside Alec Ring, Max Pirkis and Calum Gray. Steven Jacob Russell serves as director of photography.

The newly revealed poster continues the film’s collision of Halloween iconography and post-apocalyptic imagery, positioning Shapiro’s Pumpkin at the center of a story built around a very different kind of final girl.

Hallowarrior begins streaming exclusively on Shudder Friday, Oct. 16.
