Jason Statham Takes on an International Conspiracy in New Poster for Mutiny, Only in Theaters August 21
Lionsgate has unveiled a brand-new poster for Mutiny, the upcoming action thriller starring Jason Statham, which is set to arrive exclusively in theaters on August 21.
Directed by Jean-François Richet (Plane, Blood Father), Mutiny puts Statham back into familiar territory as a lone operative fighting against impossible odds while uncovering a much larger conspiracy.
The film stars Jason Statham alongside Annabelle Wallis, Roland Møller, and Adrian Lester.
According to the official synopsis, Statham plays Cole Reed, a man whose life is turned upside down after witnessing the murder of his billionaire employer. After being framed for the crime himself, Reed boards a cargo ship and launches a personal mission to avenge his boss's death, only to discover an international conspiracy operating behind the scenes.
The newly released poster places Statham front and center, continuing the actor's long-running streak as one of action cinema's most dependable leading men. While plot details remain limited, the setup promises a mix of hand-to-hand combat, global intrigue, and high-stakes action.
Mutiny reunites audiences with the type of grounded action thriller that has become synonymous with Statham's career. Rather than leaning into superheroes or large-scale science fiction, the film appears to embrace a more classic action formula built around one determined protagonist facing overwhelming opposition.
Jean-François Richet has also built a reputation for delivering tense, character-driven action films, making him a natural fit for a Statham-led vehicle.
The screenplay comes from writers Lindsay Michel and J.P. Davis, while Statham also serves as a producer alongside Marc Butan.
The project is presented by Lionsgate in association with MadRiver Pictures and Punch Palace.
For action fans, this one looks poised to deliver exactly what they expect from a Jason Statham summer release: conspiracies, close-quarter combat, and one man refusing to back down.
Mutiny arrives only in theaters on August 21.
