Kickboxer 2 Heads to Blu-ray With New Vestron Collector’s Edition
The Kickboxer franchise is returning to physical media this fall as Kickboxer 2: The Road Back arrives on Blu-ray September 15 as the latest entry in the Vestron Video Collector’s Series.
The new Blu-ray + Digital Vestron Collector’s Edition #41 brings Albert Pyun’s martial arts sequel back with a collection of new interviews, commentary, archival trailers, and additional material.
The story follows David Sloan, played by Sasha Mitchell, the brother of Kurt Sloan from the original Kickboxer.
After his defeat at Kurt’s hands, brutal fighter Tong Po wants another opportunity to face his rival and restore his reputation. Instead, Tong Po kills Kurt in a fit of rage, eliminating any possibility of a rematch.
Attention then turns to David, who operates a kickboxing gym in Los Angeles. Thai government official Mr. Sangha, who handles Tong Po, sees David as another opportunity for the fighter to regain his honor. David is subsequently manipulated into a match that brings the Sloan family back into Tong Po’s violent world.
Directed by Albert Pyun, Kickboxer 2 was written by Mark DiSalle, Jean-Claude Van Damme, and David S. Goyer. The film stars Sasha Mitchell, Peter Boyle, and Dennis Chan.
