Nicolas Winding Refn’s Her Private Hell Unleashes Stylish New Trailer Ahead of July Release

NEON has released the full official trailer for Her Private Hell, offering audiences their most extensive look yet at Nicolas Winding Refn’s latest descent into psychological horror.

Set to arrive in theaters on July 24, the film stars Sophie Thatcher and Charles Melton in what appears to be a surreal and emotionally charged nightmare wrapped in Refn’s signature visual style.

The trailer offers plenty of striking imagery, neon-soaked cinematography, and unsettling moments that have become synonymous with the filmmaker behind Drive, The Neon Demon, and Only God Forgives. While much of the story remains intentionally mysterious, the footage suggests a tense dynamic between Thatcher’s and Melton’s characters as themes of desire, control, identity, and obsession begin to emerge.

Thatcher, who continues to establish herself as one of horror’s most recognizable rising stars following projects such as Heretic, Companion, and Yellowjackets, appears to be at the center of the film’s increasingly disturbing psychological spiral. Meanwhile, Melton’s role remains enigmatic, with the trailer teasing a relationship that may be far more dangerous than it initially appears.

As with much of Refn’s recent work, Her Private Hell seems less interested in traditional horror storytelling and more focused on atmosphere, symbolism, and emotional unease. The trailer offers glimpses of violence and psychological torment, but its strongest impression comes from its dreamlike visuals and mounting sense of dread.

Whether audiences connect with the film’s narrative remains to be seen, but visually, Her Private Hell looks poised to deliver another meticulously crafted experience from one of cinema’s most distinctive stylists.

With its blend of psychological horror, provocative themes, and unforgettable imagery, Her Private Hell is shaping up to be one of the more intriguing genre releases of the summer.

Her Private Hell arrives exclusively in theaters on July 24.
