OSGOOD PERKINS BEGINS FILMING NEW HORROR FEATURE “THE YOUNG PEOPLE” — STARRING LOLA TUNG & NICO PARKER

Just when fans thought Osgood Perkins might take a breather after Keeper, the horror auteur is already back behind the camera. Shooting has officially begun on his next film, The Young People, a self-described “bad trip” from Perkins — and if the first image released by Neon is any indication, we’re in for another unsettling descent into psychological terror.

Leading the cast are Lola Tung, breakout star of The Summer I Turned Pretty, and Nico Parker, fresh off The Last of Us, Dumbo, and the upcoming How to Train Your Dragon. The project reunites Perkins with Neon following their ongoing collaboration on Keeper and continues his streak of cryptic, atmosphere-driven horror storytelling that’s captured both arthouse and genre audiences alike.

While plot details are being kept tightly under wraps, the first still, taken by Perkins himself, hints at the director’s signature mix of minimalism and dread. Shot in stark black and white, the photo features Tung sitting on the edge of a bathtub — blood visible in the water — inside a sterile, all-white room with a dark opening in the background. The image evokes both the surreal horror of The Blackcoat’s Daughter and the sterile unease of Longlegs, cementing Perkins’ ongoing obsession with the haunting geometry of domestic spaces.

The Young People is expected to hit theaters in 2026, with Neon once again set to distribute. The script’s title page, seen in the photo circulating online, teases a chilling line:

“One of the old ones steps forward, drops its robe to reveal…”

If that doesn’t sound like classic Osgood, nothing does.

As with Keeper and Longlegs, details will likely drip out slowly — a marketing style that’s become part of the Osgood Perkins mystique. But with Tung and Parker leading the cast and Neon handling distribution, horror fans have plenty to look forward to in 2026.

For now, we’ll just keep our eyes on the tub — and the blood swirling inside.
