Peacock Drops First Trailer for M.I.A., a Neon-Soaked Revenge Crime Drama Set in Miami

Peacock has released the first trailer and first look images for M.I.A., an upcoming crime drama series that leans into revenge, identity, and survival within Miami’s underworld.

Set to premiere May 7, 2026, the series introduces Etta Tiger Jonze, a young woman caught between the quiet stagnation of the Florida Keys and the high-stakes allure of Miami. When her family’s drug-running operation collapses in tragedy, Etta is forced into a path that pushes her deeper into a violent and unpredictable criminal landscape.

The trailer points toward a series driven by momentum — with fast, tightly choreographed action sequences and a visual style rooted in neon-lit streets and coastal contrast. There’s a clear emphasis on transformation, as Etta’s journey appears less about escape and more about adaptation within a system that demands it.

Shannon Gisela leads the cast, supported by a lineup that includes Cary Elwes, Danay Garcia, Brittany Adebumola, Dylan Jackson, Alberto Guerra, Maurice Compte, Gerardo Celasco, and Marta Milans. The mix of established names and emerging talent positions the series as both a character-driven story and a broader ensemble piece.

Behind the scenes, M.I.A. is created by Bill Dubuque, with Karen Campbell serving as showrunner. Direction across the season is handled by a rotating group including Alethea Jones, Gwyneth Horder-Payton, Marizee Almas, Ben Semanoff, and John Dahl.

From its first trailer, M.I.A. signals a focus on revenge-driven storytelling layered with crime drama elements, placing its lead character in situations that test both morality and survival instincts. The tone sits firmly within that modern streaming space — stylized, character-focused, and built around escalation.

With its blend of action, crime, and personal stakes, M.I.A. is shaping up as a series to watch for those drawn to stories where ambition, consequence, and identity collide under pressure.

M.I.A. premieres May 7, 2026, exclusively on Peacock.
