‘Rambo’ Complete Collection Heads to 4K With Extensive New Bonus Content This May

The Rambo franchise is getting a full 4K upgrade this spring, as Lionsgate prepares to release Rambo: The Complete Collection on 4K UHD and Digital on May 26, with an Amazon-exclusive rollout.

Spanning nearly four decades of action cinema, the collection brings together all five films — from First Blood (1982) through Rambo: Last Blood (2019) — alongside a newly assembled bonus disc and a comprehensive slate of legacy special features.

At its core, the Rambo series follows John Rambo, a former Green Beret navigating the psychological and physical aftermath of war. Across the films, the character evolves from a drifter confronting small-town hostility to a figure pulled into global conflicts involving POW rescues, covert operations, and personal vendettas. The franchise has long balanced large-scale action with themes tied to trauma, survival, and identity.

This new release leans into both the technical and archival side of the franchise.

Each film receives a 2160p UHD presentation with Dolby Vision HDR, alongside upgraded audio including Dolby Atmos mixes across the collection. Select titles also feature newly sourced audio elements, including a restored 70mm track for Rambo: First Blood Part II.

The set also introduces a new bonus disc exclusive to this release, featuring retrospectives such as Reflections on First Blood with director Ted Kotcheff, storyboarding breakdowns, and a broader look at the franchise’s visual and cultural impact.

Beyond that, the collection compiles an extensive range of legacy material, including audio commentaries, production documentaries, deleted scenes, alternate endings, and archival interviews with Sylvester Stallone and key collaborators. The supplemental content traces the evolution of the franchise from its grounded origins into a defining piece of 1980s action cinema and beyond.

While the Rambo films are often remembered for their intensity and large-scale action, the series remains rooted in character — specifically in its portrayal of a soldier shaped by conflict long after leaving the battlefield.

With Rambo: The Complete Collection, Lionsgate packages that legacy into a single release that reflects both the franchise’s cultural footprint and its technical restoration for modern audiences.

OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS

Since its debut nearly four decades ago, the Rambo series starring Sylvester Stallone has become one of the most iconic action- movie franchises of all time. An ex-Green Beret haunted by memories of Vietnam, the legendary fighting machine known as Rambo has battled small-town prejudice, freed POWs, rescued his commanding officer from the Soviets, and liberated missionaries in Myanmar. In his final mission, Rambo's vengeance is unleashed after an old friend's granddaughter is kidnapped in Mexico.
