Raven Banner Boards Tyler Savage’s ‘Oddities’ Ahead of Cannes Market Push

The Cannes market continues to load up on genre titles, and Oddities is the latest project to secure a major move. Raven Banner Entertainment has officially acquired world sales rights to the film from writer-director Tyler Savage, with plans to launch international sales during Cannes.

Savage, best known for Stalker, brings a more chaotic, survival-driven energy to Oddities, a film that already made its world premiere at the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival.

The story centers on two self-destructive best friends on the run after accidentally killing their drug dealer—a setup that quickly spirals into something far more dangerous. Their escape leads them to a roadside antique shop, where they encounter an older woman who is anything but what she seems. What follows is a collision of threats, as the past catches up and the present becomes even more volatile.

Leading the cast are Lilimar and Lovie Simone, whose dynamic appears to anchor the film’s emotional and chaotic core. They’re joined by genre veteran Adrienne Barbeau, whose presence alone signals that the film isn’t going to play things safe. Supporting roles include Will Oldham, James Lee Thomas, Sara Durn, and Xander Berkeley, rounding out a cast that blends indie credibility with recognizable genre talent.

Behind the scenes, Oddities is produced by Fryman Films in association with Wrigley Media Group, with a producing team that includes David Broad, Noah Lang, Javier Gonzalez, and Max Neace. The project also carries a deep bench of executive producers, including Barbeau, Lilimar, and Simone.

Raven Banner’s Michael Paszt described the film as a “bold, filmmaker-driven genre piece” that embraces risk and unpredictability—an approach that continues to resonate with international buyers looking for distinct voices in horror. The company’s James Fler emphasized the film’s tonal balance and commercial appeal, pointing to its strong cast and high-energy execution as key selling points.

On paper, Oddities sits comfortably in a lane that blends crime thriller chaos with contained horror tension. But the real hook is in its escalation—what starts as a desperate escape story quickly becomes a survival scenario layered with psychological and possibly supernatural elements.

With Cannes serving as the launchpad, Oddities now enters the global marketplace with momentum already building from its festival debut. For a film built on unpredictability, that positioning feels exactly right.
