IRIE YU’S SAMURAI FURY ARRIVES THIS OCTOBER FROM WELL GO USA
Feudal Japan burns in a new adaptation of Muromachi Burai
Well Go USA is set to release Samurai Fury, the latest feature from director Irie Yu (Memoirs of a Murderer), this October. Adapted from the award-winning novel Muromachi Burai by Ryosuke Kakine, the film drops viewers into a brutal 15th-century Japan—fractured by plague, famine, and power struggles.
The official trailer, released today, previews the scale of violence and desperation as warlords fight for control and survival. At the center is Hasuda Hyoe (Ôizumi Yô, I Am A Hero), a former slave turned warrior, whose growing resistance movement challenges the apathy of the ruling shogunate. Standing in his way is Honekawa Doken (Shin’ichi Tsutsumi, Why Don’t You Play in Hell?), a former ally turned rival in a conflict that stretches across bloodlines and broken allegiances.
Samurai Fury will debut digitally on October 7, followed by a physical release on 4K UHD, Blu-ray™, and DVD October 28 via Well Go USA.
Also starring Nagao Kento (Rohan at the Louvre) and Matsumoto Wakana (The Blue Sky at Your Feet), the film marks a return to large-scale historical violence from Irie Yu—eschewing glamor in favor of grit, betrayal, and defiance.
As the countryside starves and rots, a silent shogun looks on. Hyoe plans to make sure he’s not watching for much longer.
The Action-Packed Historical Epic Comes to Digital October 7,
Before Landing on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray™ & DVD October 28
Bonus Content Includes an English Dub
