Fans of the cult classic horror film "Nightwatch" have reason to rejoice as the long-awaited sequel, "Nightwatch: Demons are Forever," is set to premiere on the streaming platform Shudder on May 17th.

Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Ole Bornedal, who also helmed the original 1994 late-night hit, "Nightwatch: Demons are Forever" promises to captivate a new generation of horror enthusiasts. The film follows the story of Emma, a 22-year-old medical student portrayed by Fanny Leander Bornedal, who embarks on a harrowing journey as she confronts her past while working the night shift at a forensic department.

Set in the same place where Emma's parents faced a near-fatal encounter with the infamous psychopathic police inspector Wörmer, the sequel delves into Emma's quest for answers surrounding her parents' traumatic past. With her mother gone and her father, played by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, grappling with the aftermath of the tragedy, Emma finds herself on a collision course with Wörmer, portrayed by Kim Bodnia.

"Nightwatch: Demons are Forever" reunites the original cast members Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Kim Bodnia, and Ulf Pilgaard, who reprise their roles from the Danish cult classic "NIGHTWATCH" (1994). The film, which served as the inspiration for the 1997 U.S. remake starring Ewan McGregor, continues the chilling narrative of suspense and terror that captivated audiences nearly three decades ago.

In this highly anticipated sequel, Emma's pursuit of truth inadvertently reignites Wörmer's thirst for blood, leading to a violent chain of events that threatens to engulf everyone involved in sealing his fate years ago. As Emma confronts the darkest corners of her past, viewers can expect a gripping tale of suspense, horror, and revenge.

Shudder, the leading streaming platform for horror, teased fans today with glimpses of the upcoming film along with an eerie poster, heightening anticipation for its release. For those who are new to the "Nightwatch" franchise, it is recommended to revisit the original film as well as its American remake to fully appreciate the legacy and evolution of this iconic story.

Prepare to be terrified and enthralled as "Nightwatch: Demons are Forever" descends upon screens this May, promising a chilling ride into the heart of darkness.
