Big Baby Trailer Unleashes a Bloody Blend of Slasher Mayhem and Psychological Horror
The first official trailer for Big Baby has arrived, offering horror fans a disturbing look at Spider One's latest nightmare-fueled feature ahead of its August release.
Set to debut On Demand on August 7 through Brainstorm Media, Big Baby combines slasher carnage with psychological dread, centering on a horror writer whose terrifying creation may be stepping off the page and into reality.
The film follows a writer plagued by recurring nightmares of a maniacal killer wearing a baby mask. As he channels those visions into a screenplay, the line between fiction and reality begins to blur. What starts as inspiration quickly spirals into paranoia as he realizes Big Baby's murderous rampage may be far more than a story.
The trailer leans heavily into its unsettling central villain, teasing a mix of surreal imagery, brutal violence, and self-referential horror storytelling. While the concept of a writer watching their fictional world bleed into real life is familiar territory within the genre, Big Baby appears determined to distinguish itself through its bizarre masked killer and over-the-top slasher energy.
Whether the film ultimately lands with audiences may come down to what every slasher fan wants: memorable kills, creative set pieces, and a villain worth revisiting. Based on the trailer, Spider One seems fully committed to delivering a blood-soaked spectacle.
Spider One, whose previous horror feature Little Bites earned attention on the festival circuit, serves as both writer and director. He also produced the film alongside Krsy Fox.
The cast is packed with familiar genre faces, led by Brandon Scott (Dead to Me), Krsy Fox (Terrifier 3), and Adam Marcinowski (Bury the Bride). Supporting players include Sierra McCormick, Jordan Elsass, Catherine Corcoran, Kirby Bliss Blanton, Cameron Cowperthwaite, Chaz Bono, David Howard Thornton, Tracie Thoms, Luke Barnett, and Del Howison.
The project also features an impressive list of executive producers, including Cher, Tyler Connolly, Chaz Bono, Wendy Berry, and Terry Poor.
To support the release, several fan events are scheduled throughout July and August, including signings, special screenings, photo opportunities, and a dedicated Big Baby exhibit at Slasherworld.
Highlights include:
- July 11: Signing and photo opportunity with Spider One, Krsy Fox, and Big Baby at Scarepros in Levittown, Pennsylvania.
- July 12: Special screening hosted by Kevin Smith at Smodcastle followed by a Q&A with Spider One and Krsy Fox.
- July 23: Special screening at Culver Theater hosted by Dead Meat's James A. Janisse.
- July 27 through August 10: Big Baby exhibit and photo opportunities at Slasherworld.
- August 15: Horror Vibes Coffee event in Los Angeles featuring specialty drinks, giveaways, and photo opportunities.
With a creepy central premise, a recognizable cast, and a killer that looks designed for midnight movie audiences, Big Baby could become one of the more talked-about indie slashers of the summer.
Big Baby arrives On Demand on August 7.
