Prime Video has unveiled the official trailer and poster for The Bluff, a blood-soaked historical action thriller set to stream globally on Prime Video beginning February 25. Directed by Frank E. Flowers, the film pairs brutal sword-and-steel spectacle with an intimate survival story driven by a ferocious lead performance from Priyanka Chopra Jonas opposite Karl Urban.
Set against the unforgiving terrain of the Cayman Islands, The Bluff follows Ercell “Bloody Mary” Bodden, a former pirate who believed she had buried her violent past. Living in uneasy peace with her husband T.H. (Ismael Cruz Cordova), their son Isaac (Vedanten Naidoo), and her sister-in-law Elizabeth (Safia Oakley-Green), Ercell’s world is torn open when her former captain Connor arrives seeking vengeance. Urban plays Connor not as a theatrical villain, but as a relentless reminder of who Ercell used to be—and what she may still be capable of becoming.
Chopra Jonas delivers one of her most physical and uncompromising performances to date, grounding the film’s action in desperation, resolve, and maternal fury. This is not a glossy pirate fantasy. It’s a fight for survival, staged through savage sword fights, lethal traps, and close-quarters brawls that emphasize pain, exhaustion, and consequence. Flowers and co-writer Joe Ballarini lean into tactile realism, using real-world locations like Cayman Brac’s Skull Cave and towering coastal bluffs to give the film a lived-in, punishing sense of place.
Backing the project are producers Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, and Angela Russo-Otstot through AGBO, bringing the same high-concept precision and character-forward intensity seen in Avengers: Endgame and Extraction. That influence is felt in the film’s propulsive pacing and emotional stakes, ensuring the action never exists without consequence.
For Horror Movies Uncut audiences, The Bluff hits a familiar nerve. It’s a story about confronting buried violence, embracing survival instincts, and weaponizing the past when there’s no other option left. With its harsh historical edge, unflinching brutality, and a lead performance that refuses to soften or sanitize the cost of survival, The Bluff is shaping up to be one of early 2026’s most visceral and crowd-ready streaming releases.
