Small Town Monsters is set to release The Kinderhook Creature: In the Shadow of Sasquatch on digital platforms beginning March 24, 2026, bringing viewers deep into a mystery that has lingered for nearly half a century. The documentary will debut across major streaming platforms including Apple TV, Prime Video, and Google Play.

Directed by Seth Breedlove, founder of Small Town Monsters and one of the most prolific voices in modern cryptid documentaries, the film explores a string of bizarre encounters reported in the quiet town of Kinderhook, New York. For decades, locals have whispered about sightings of a strange upright creature — one many believe to be linked to the broader Sasquatch phenomenon.

The film draws heavily from the experiences of author and radio broadcaster Bruce Hallenbeck, whose book The Kinderhook Creature and Beyond: A Personal Reminiscence chronicled a series of deeply unsettling encounters that he and his family experienced throughout the 1980s. What began as a handful of sightings quickly spiraled into something much larger, with reports spreading beyond the small Columbia County town and capturing the attention of paranormal researchers around the world.

But The Kinderhook Creature goes beyond simply recounting sightings. The documentary also examines Hallenbeck’s life and the personal toll of living under the shadow of an unexplained phenomenon, where paranormal events, folklore, and personal testimony blur the line between myth and reality.
