AMC+ and Shudder Unveil Trailer for The Terror: Devil in Silver, Premiering May 7
A new chapter in one of horror television’s most respected anthology series is on the way. AMC+ and Shudder have released the official trailer and key art for The Terror: Devil in Silver, the latest installment in The Terror, set to premiere Thursday, May 7 with weekly episodes to follow.
The six-episode limited series is executive produced by Ridley Scott and led by showrunners Chris Cantwell and Victor LaValle, whose novel serves as the foundation for the season. Karyn Kusama (Yellowjackets) directs the first two episodes, setting the tone for a story rooted in psychological breakdown and institutional horror.
Starring Dan Stevens, who also serves as executive producer, the series follows Pepper, a working-class man who finds himself wrongfully committed to New Hyde Psychiatric Hospital. What begins as a fight to prove his sanity quickly spirals into something far more dangerous, as Pepper encounters hostile patients, secretive doctors, and a possible supernatural force lurking within the facility.
The setting itself becomes the primary pressure point. New Hyde isn’t just a hospital—it’s a contained system built on neglect, silence, and suffering. As Pepper navigates its corridors, the line between psychological torment and something truly demonic begins to blur.
The ensemble cast includes Judith Light, Aasif Mandvi, CCH Pounder, Stephen Root, and Marin Ireland, among others, bringing a strong character-driven presence to the series.
The Terror has built its reputation on historically grounded horror, with previous seasons exploring a doomed Arctic expedition and the psychological trauma of Japanese internment camps during World War II. Devil in Silver shifts that focus into institutional horror, centering on confinement, identity, and the systems that erase people.
The series will debut on AMC+ and Shudder, with a later broadcast release planned for AMC.
