Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights Brings Ryan Coogler’s Sinners to Life

Halloween Horror Nights haunted house inspired by Ryan Coogler’s Sinners
Smoke and Stack’s vampire nightmare enters Halloween Horror Nights this fall.

‘Sinners’ Haunted House Coming to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando and Universal Studios Hollywood

Sinners is officially joining this year’s Halloween Horror Nights lineup at both Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood following the film’s major theatrical run and awards success.

The immersive haunted house attraction based on Ryan Coogler’s supernatural horror film will debut August 28 in Orlando and September 3 in Hollywood.

Released in 2025, Sinners became one of the biggest original horror films in recent years, surpassing $370 million globally while earning 16 Academy Award nominations and four Oscar wins. The film was written, directed, and produced by Coogler alongside producers Zinzi Coogler and Sev Ohanian through Proximity Media.

Set in 1930s Mississippi, the story follows twin brothers Smoke and Stack as they return home to open a juke joint before a group of vampires invades opening night, transforming the celebration into a violent fight for survival.

According to Universal, the haunted house experience will transport guests directly into Club Juke, recreating key environments and encounters from the film. Visitors will come face to face with characters including Remmick, Bert, Joan, Sammie, Mary, Annie, Pearline, and Cornbread while navigating the vampire-infested nightmare throughout the attraction.

The teaser released alongside the announcement presents a carnival-inspired atmosphere involving a circus tent and a three-card reveal teasing Sinners as one of the featured attractions for Halloween Horror Nights 2026.

John Murdy, Executive Producer of Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood, stated that the attraction would introduce new techniques and approaches for the event while adapting the film’s vampire mythology into a fully immersive haunted house experience.

Mike Aiello, Senior Director of Entertainment Creative Development at Universal Orlando Resort, also noted that Sinners stood out immediately as a strong fit for the event due to its atmosphere, characters, and horror presentation.

Universal Orlando’s event will run select nights from August 28 through November 1 as the event celebrates its 35th year. Universal Studios Hollywood’s version runs for 42 nights and will include haunted houses, scare zones, live entertainment, Terror Tram, and additional attractions.

New merchandise tied to the Sinners haunted house is already available at both resorts and online, including shirts, hats, and collectible display pieces themed around the attraction.

Additional Halloween Horror Nights house announcements are expected in the coming weeks.
