Cineverse and Iconic Events Releasing Revive Cult Horror Classics with Silent Night, Deadly Night Reboot and Return to Silent Hill
Wide theatrical releases confirmed for holiday horror and game-to-film favorite
Cineverse and Bloody Disgusting are teaming up with Iconic Events Releasing to make major noise in theaters with not one, but two massive horror titles: the long-anticipated reboot of Silent Night, Deadly Night and the chilling return of Konami’s iconic game adaptation Return to Silent Hill.
Coming in hot this December 12, 2025, just in time for yuletide terror, Silent Night, Deadly Night will unleash the story of Billy Chapman on a whole new generation. Directed by Mike P. Nelson (Wrong Turn, V/H/S/85) and starring Rohan Campbell as Billy and Ruby Modine as Pamela, the remake brings back the sleigh bells and blood with a fresh, unrated theatrical run. Nelson promises a revival of the franchise that isn’t just louder—it’s meaner, sharper, and more unrelenting than ever.
The original 1984 film caused a nationwide uproar, prompting Tri-Star to pull it from theaters after parental outrage flooded the press. But as genre fans know, that controversy only fed its legend. What was once a blacklisted slasher turned into a bona fide cult classic, and now Cineverse is giving it the wide-screen treatment it never got the first time around.
But that’s not all—next year, the fog rolls in again. On January 23, 2026, horror gamers and cinephiles alike will finally get Return to Silent Hill, the third film installment of the acclaimed Silent Hill franchise. Directed by Christophe Gans—who helmed the original 2006 Silent Hill adaptation—this newest entry brings back the eerie atmosphere and psychological dread fans have been begging for.
Starring Jeremy Irvine (War Horse, Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again) as James Sunderland and Hannah Emily Anderson (Jigsaw, X-Men: Dark Phoenix) as Mary, Return to Silent Hill is based on the hit video game Silent Hill 2 and releases on the 20th anniversary of the first film. Gans’ return behind the camera ensures this will be a faithful and visually arresting adaptation, with composer Akira Yamaoka also returning to create the score.
Cineverse’s Yolanda Macias made it clear that reviving beloved IP is a strategic move: “These two films will represent event viewing that meets fan demand.” Iconic Events Releasing’s Mark Rupp added, “We’re confident Silent Night, Deadly Night is primed for the holiday crowd, while Return to Silent Hill aligns perfectly with the upcoming game remake and fanbase momentum.”
Both films come with deep genre cred. Silent Night, Deadly Night is produced by the original film’s Scott Schneid and Dennis Whitehead, with support from names behind Insidious and Terrifier 3. Return to Silent Hill is produced by Victor Hadida (The Crow, Resident Evil), Molly Hassell (Terminal), and David Wulf (Inheritance).
Whether you’re craving holiday horror or a descent into fog-soaked madness, Cineverse and Iconic are making sure horror fans have their theatrical calendars marked.
Tickets for both releases will be available later this year. Stay tuned to @HMUNCUT for updates, trailers, and exclusive coverage.
