Three new international releases push the limits of art, death, and erotic decay — reviving the spirit of transgressive cinema for a new age.
From Italy, Germany, and Brazil emerge three dark offerings that reject convention and resurrect the provocative roots of underground horror. Mors Omnia Solvit, Tanz Der Toten, and Domina Nocturna aren’t here to entertain; they’re here to disturb — invoking the ghosts of Begotten, Nekromantik, and Jean Rollin with fresh, unholy devotion.
Mors Omnia Solvit — “Death Solves All”
Produced and directed by Congrega Esoterica Padovana, Mors Omnia Solvit (also known as Frammenti – I Veneratori di Morte) is a transgressive meditation on death, love, and dissolution.
Reimagining the myth of Persephone and Hades, the film follows a young woman’s descent into a cult of death worshippers led by a modern Hades. Set in an industrial wasteland where eroticism and decay intertwine, Mors Omnia Solvit blurs the line between ritual and reality, sensuality and submission.
The film stars Samael Von Martin, Vax Absent, Simòn Ferètro, The Nun, Niko Devotional, and Natalija Brankovic. The score comes from Mater A Clivis Imperat, the black metal project formed by Von Martin, founder of the legendary Italian band EVOL.
A companion to cinema’s most infamous provocations, Mors Omnia Solvit honors the heretical spirit of filmmakers like Jörg Buttgereit and E. Elias Merhige — an invocation of death as both liberation and art form.
Tanz Der Toten — “Dance of the Dead”

From Germany’s underground comes Günther Brandl’s Tanz Der Toten, a feverish tribute to Hammer Horror, mixing vampirism, lycanthropy, and the undead with lavish practical effects.
Set in 19th-century Bohemia, the mutilated bodies of seven villagers spark paranoia and fear as whispers of a vampire — and a werewolf — sweep through the countryside. The film’s palette of blood and fog recalls the chiaroscuro beauty of Eurohorror’s golden age.
The ensemble includes Monika Brandl, Melody Bayer, Daniel Kanter, and Yvette Costeau, alongside Brandl himself. Tanz Der Toten promises a delirious return to tactile horror — a handcrafted nightmare unafraid of its own monstrous romance.
Domina Nocturna — The Eternal Feminine, Undead

Brazilian director Larissa Anzoategui (Astaroth) delivers a sensual, expressionist descent into madness with Domina Nocturna, written by Ramiro Giroldo.
In a city of the dead, Angelique (played by Anzoategui) is haunted by visions of a vampire queen and her Satanic cult. The film unfolds like a fever dream — a tribute to Jean Rollin, Jess Franco, Lord Byron, and Álvares de Azevedo, painted in gothic tones and ritual blood.
An all-female cast, including Nathália Borioli, Renata Cáceres, Mariane Lopes, and Mera, transforms the film into both elegy and rebellion. Domina Nocturna seduces the eye as it dismembers the soul.
