Super Happy Fun Clown Premieres on BloodStream January 1 After Strong Festival Run
The Horror Collective has announced that Super Happy Fun Clown, the festival crowd-pleaser from director Patrick Rea, will premiere exclusively on BloodStream beginning January 1. The film arrives on the horror-focused service following well-received screenings at Panic Fest and FrightFest, where audiences responded strongly to its mix of dark comedy, practical gore effects, and an acclaimed performance from Jennifer Seward.
The film follows Jennifer, a former child prodigy who now performs as Jenn-O the Clown. What begins as a chaotic Halloween-night gig turns into something far more volatile as Jenn-O slips into personas inspired by classic movie monsters and real-world serial killers. The evening becomes a spiral of catharsis, confrontation, and increasingly violent fallout. Super Happy Fun Clown is written and produced by Eric Winkler, with Rea also producing, continuing the team’s ongoing collaboration across genre projects.
Rea described the film as the culmination of years spent exploring the relationship between identity and performance. He noted that Jenn-O represents a character who is “raw, unfiltered, and more than a little dangerous,” and emphasized that BloodStream is an ideal partner because the platform showcases films willing to take risks and speak directly to horror fans.
Winkler echoed that sentiment, explaining that he and Rea set out to create a story that “pushes boundaries.” He added that BloodStream’s dedicated audience is the right fit for a film centered on ambition, notoriety, and the idea that infamy can become its own path to legacy.
Heidi Honeycutt, recently appointed Acquisitions and Programming Lead at BloodStream, highlighted how the film aligns with the service’s focus on bold, festival-tested genre titles. She called Super Happy Fun Clown a project with “spark,” noting that her festival programming background reinforced how quickly films with a clear creative voice can build real momentum. Honeycutt emphasized that BloodStream aims to support filmmakers with strong festival presence while providing a platform that encourages discovery.

Following its BloodStream debut on January 1, Super Happy Fun Clown will roll out to additional digital platforms later in 2026.
