Who Put That There? Adds Horror Icons Christopher Young and Greg Punchatz to SAG Horror-Comedy Mockumentary
A new horror-comedy mockumentary is assembling an eclectic lineup of genre talent both in front of and behind the camera.
Who Put That There?, the upcoming SAG horror-comedy feature from writer-director Daniel Ruczko, has added legendary horror composer Christopher Young, practical effects artist Greg Punchatz, actor J.P. Manoux, actor Kenneth Miller, and Zack Merrick to the project ahead of production.
The film is scheduled to begin shooting July 14 in Albuquerque.
Written and directed by Ruczko, Who Put That There? centers on Leon, a meticulous contractor who works behind the scenes for serial killers. His responsibilities include sourcing props and weapons, dressing crime scenes, and making sure every disturbing detail is perfectly arranged before the murders happen. The film blends horror, comedy, and mockumentary storytelling while exploring the unseen labor behind genre-style violence.
Christopher Young will compose the score for the film. Young is known throughout horror circles for his work on films including Hellraiser, Drag Me to Hell, Sinister, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, and Spider-Man 3.
Greg Punchatz joins the production as practical effects artist. His effects work includes credits on RoboCop, A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge, From Beyond, and the original DOOM video game.
J.P. Manoux will lead the film as Leon. Audiences may recognize him from projects including How I Met Your Mother, ER, Community, and Running Point. Kenneth Miller, known for work on Ransom Canyon, The Rookie, and Bosch: Legacy, is also attached.
Ruczko described the project as a natural extension of his filmmaking style, blending horror language with documentary structure. He also cited Christopher Young’s work on Sinister as a major influence on his own approach to electronic music and atmosphere.
The project will launch a Kickstarter campaign on June 1 through Black Corridor Pictures, the production company founded by Ruczko and Miller.
Additional cast and crew announcements are expected in the coming weeks.
