If you’ve been craving some dirty, neon-soaked cyberpunk rage from the fringes of the future, Timo Vuorensola is here to deliver. The Iron Sky filmmaker returns with ALTERED, a dystopian, cyber-gutter thriller starring Tom Felton—yes, Draco Malfoy is leading the revolution—and it looks exactly like the kind of scrappy sci-fi uprising we like to see.

Set in an alternate present where genetically enhanced humans dominate society, Altered follows Leon (Felton), a man born without the upgrades that now define class and survival. Forced into the margins with the other “unaltered,” Leon teams with Chloe (Elizaveta Bugulova), a young outcast with her own reasons to burn the system down. Together, they push against a corrupt political order that’s weaponized genetics to divide and conquer.

If it all sounds like cyberpunk with a street-fighting heart, that’s because it is. Vuorensola thrives in these worlds—grimy, industrial, lived-in dystopias where the revolution doesn’t happen on a screen, it happens in the alleyways. The trailer is pulsing with this energy: flashing lights, corporate cruelty, body-mod humans, underground resistance, and the kind of anti-establishment heroism that thrives in genre cinema.

And with a supporting cast that includes genre favorite Richard Brake (31, Barbarian, Doom) and Aggy Adams (The Witcher), Altered feels locked and loaded for fans of retro-future rebellion.

The film hits 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray on January 20 from Well Go USA, which means we won’t be waiting long to dive in. Expect HMU’s full review the week of the 12th.
